WAP sites share much in common with their Internet counterparts. Indeed most of the same applications, such as database connectivity, and application methods, such as Perl, ASP and Coldfusion can still be used. However, whilst conventional web sites are developed using HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) and their derivatives, WAP pages are developed in WML (Wireless Mark-up Language).

Designing WAP sites for mobile phones and PDA and SmartPhone web sites for the Mobile Internet requires different considerations from designing conventional web pages to be browsed using desktop and laptop PCs. Many devices are limited by the small screen size (which are often low resolution) and connectivity bandwidth must also be considered.

WAP has its own bitmap format called wireless bitmap (wbmp) and we have expertise in transferring corporate logos to wbmp images. WAP Pages use the analogy of a deck of cards and a conventional web page may be compared to a deck of cards in the WAP counterpart. Each screen of information is considered to be a card and it is the designers responsibility to provide navigation between cards in a deck. The translation of conventional web sites in to WAP sites is therefore not straight forward, and though must be applied to both the site design and implementation.
